What Is It?

Therapeutic BREATH Counselling is a unique, guided session that combines somatic awareness, conscious breath and therapeutic attunement to help your body do what it was designed to do — shift from survival to safety. Tara integrates trauma-informed breath practices with nervous system education and gentle guidance to help you release stuck energy, regulate your emotional states, and rewire your response patterns.

Why Breath?

Your breath is the remote control for your nervous system. Fast, shallow breathing? Your system thinks it’s go-time. Long, slow exhales? It signals safety. The breath is the only automatic function in your body that you can consciously influence — making it one of the most powerful tools for self-regulation, healing trauma responses, and reconnecting with the present moment.

Therapeutic breath counselling isn’t just about calming down — it’s about learning how to listen to your body, shift out of old survival states, and create space to choose your response so you can rewire how you relate to stress, emotion, and even joy.

Sessions are 50 minutes and guided by Tara’s calm, attuned presence and years of experience in both breathwork and trauma-informed counselling.

Tara is a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor, so these session may qualify for extended health reimbursement. Call your provider and ask if they cover Registered Counselling with The Association of Cooperative Counselling Therapists (ACCT). It is a good idea to find out the terms and limits of your coverage at the same time.

After hitting burnout as a young mom in a codependent relationship, I spent years studying psychology, therapy, and trauma healing… yet still found myself looping in old patterns. It wasn’t until I discovered breathwork that everything shifted. Regulating my nervous system through daily breath meditation helped me reconnect with my body, reclaim my needs, and finally choose me — not out of guilt, but from a place of deep self-trust.
